Here’s another free disk imaging software alternative. Macrium Reflect is a slick Windows application to create backup images for your XP or Vista machine. Now, this runs in Windows so the user interface is nice and easy to use. And it also includes scheduled backups to local, network, or optical drives.
I was recently messing around with some linux data utilities and they are really cool. But I realize that most people don’t want to mess around with those kind of things. They want simple and easy. And they want access to their stuff from wherever. That’s the result of a modern lifestyle. So, why not […]
I’m always in the hunt for free backup software. Luis Cobian has developed a nice backup program, aptly called Cobian Backup, that you may be interested in. 2BrightSparks also has a great backup program, but I’ll leave that for the next post.

Well, Sarotech has come out with a nice looking drive that utilizes fingerprint recognition to ensure that your data doesn’t get stolen - even if your […]
I have numerous friends who are Mac addicts (sorry, couldn’t resist the pic!). Yep, they’ve gulped down the Apple juice. But one consistent feature of most computer users is that they do not backup their data. There’s no shame in it - just pain. Think about the pain of losing all […]

I recently came across an interesting site called Clone Genius. The software features a Live CD. A Live CD is just a CD that will boot your computer. But to get the Live CD, you have to burn an .iso file. An .iso file is simply an image file. But many folks have no idea […]
The Linbox Rescue Server is a really neat linux application that could save your tail. This package is similar to another product that I posted about on my PaulTech called SpiceWorks. SpiceWorks is a Windows based product while Linbox only runs on linux. Linbox can monitor your various assets on the network, perform full system […]
